Wind It Up x Gwen Stefani

Remember how we used to say we'll take small steps because we know we'll get there, it doesn't matter how long we'll take, because we KNOW that we want this to work?

Well, today we took a quantum leap =)
I can't wait to take the next quantum leap, love.

Because, after today at Pasir Laba Camp, it's beyond "i love you".

It's "i love you X xoxoxoxoxoxoxo".

Next trip, Tekong? *winks*

Not Going Back x Audiowhores Feat. Pete Simpson

Oh goddddddddddd.

My leg hurts, I've been missing breakfasts, lunches and dinners and I stand around for near 6-8 hours straight almost everyday.
I've been heaving piles of boxes of mini boots/ballet flats/heels/sneakers/oxford shoes to the storeroom so that a colleague could climb several feet above ground to keep them as stocks.

Ditto for our dear Mr. Rain, who's now my colleague =D

But we both know it's worth the sweat, dust and 379 boxes (which took 4 DHL sized lorries to transport per day, in 2 days) of numerous dresses, suits, wigs, accessories, yadayadayada when the grand opening happens this Saturday.

Finally we can stop piling animal skins and proceed to "Choose Me", "Hear Me", "Stuff Me", "Fluff Me", "Dress Me", "Name Me" and "Take Me Home".
FINALLY!

YAY US!

Be Like That x 3 Doors Down

The first present out of the five I've listed has been ordered and paid for.
Now, to wait and hope the parcel arrives when someone is home.
I rather not go down to any post office to collect the parcel when I've paid 6 bucks for the registered mail *prays hard*.

I'm verging on the edge of Brokeville =(
Let's hope the new job pays well.

Now, to make or not to make reservations?

Please Please Me x The Beatles
So, the visuals from the impromptu trip to the island of Ubin.
An extremely affordable getaway for the unemployed =)

Bumboat!

A short pit stop that we took due to the sudden downpour.

Rain : Uncle, the wild boar still here?

Smiling, despite the fact that we were being attacked by sandflies.

Making our way to Chek Jawa on foot...

...which was about a 180 m away.

Chek Jawa coastlines.
Walking to the viewing tower.
Walking...
Still walking...
Uh huh... still walking...
Nearly there...
Finally.
Now, we climb...
and climb a bit more...

At the top... which felt pretty shaky.
The walk and climb was well worth it, for the sight that greeted us... was just breathtaking.
Lush and dense greenery and the occasional passing white clouds on the stark blue sky.
Cycling to get some well-deserved coconut juice from the Cookie Monster's place, which was owned by this very nice makcik.
Yat, wanting more coconuts after he was done with his.
Rain, scraping away the coconut "flesh".
Me, nursing my aching butt after that "graceful" fall at the downhill earth tracks.
Hida, refusing to touch the coconut "flesh".

It was also the last stop before returning our bikes which we loaned 5 hours ago.

And now, reluctant faces heading back to Singapore shores =(

A swollen thumb, sandflies bitten arms and 5 lifted butts later, we made our way to Beach Road for some good hawker food.

Definitely, a trip that was well worth every single cent.

And and andddddddd, today is a BIG BIG day for Mr. Rain and myself.

Here's to hoping we do our bestest! =)

For You Blue x The Beatles

The Pulau Ubin trip was fantastic!!!!!!

A sprained thumb (from changing gears - I've no idea how it happened) and a small crash into a tree while going downhill on the dirt/earth tracks later, I went home without any regrets - just a very, very, very sore butt.

I'd like to thank the fantastic four, Yat, Tina, Rain and Hida for waiting up while I paddled like a nyonya with a ton of bricks on her back.
Without you guys, I wouldn't have made it home.
Reallly.

And while I expected to wake up sore all over this morning, I was surprised that I felt pretty good.
Only that my right thumb is now bigger than the left one due to the swelling, and it's slightly blue near the palm, but Han says it'll get better by Monday.

And hey, no holes on my body anywhere =)

Pictures as soon as I get them from Shawtits.

Love is Gone x David Guetta

All these "We want Chinese" (whatever that means) and "Thanks for applying but we require you to speak basic Mandarin" thing has got to cease.

I DO understand basic Mandarin and I CAN (somewhat) speak basic Mandarin.
I'm really not that bad, trust me.
I've got a sister who's taking up Conversational Mandarin and who demands speaking to me in Mandarin at home to "practice".

Is it because I'm not Chinese looking?
Huh!?
That's THE reason, right?!?

I'm THIS close to migrating to Frankfurt.
THIS CLOSE.

URGHHH.

Fever x Peggy Lee

Malam Retro.

Honestly, I expected a tad more but heck, great company more than made up for the mediocre attempt of creating one helluva memorable night.
Fever! was the name of the game that night.
The photo booth where we had our group shot, with Ms. Saloma Fad, Ms. Audrey-Hepburn Di, Mr. Comb-in-my-Fro Yat and Mr. I Love My Suspenders Rain, just to name a few.
Fad - With her rented head to toe outfit courtesy of Masquerade, got into the Best Dressed Competition.
Marianah - With her 3 1/2 inch high red spiked heels and her constant tugging at her white head band.
The gentlemen present for the night having drinks before we party till the not-so-late hour.
Our attempt at dressing up as a (semi) mod and modette.
Yat and Hazmi.
Hahahahaha.
This boy was so freaking excited about the event.
Woke me up at 10 am - messaged me tirelessly(even though I had no time to reply) and basically posing like that through out the night.Lamms and Pei Min managed to locate us through the throngs of Elvis impersonators and afro hair for a quick snap by the buffet.

1/2 of the UMNOs were present.
Iffa, god, I love you like crazy.
We'll go Aussie and have crazy good fish and chips, alright?
Ida!
Who can't stop laughing at me during the week we handled Point-of-Sales machines -_-
Another girl whom I can't seem to get enough of [we have class together ONCE a week =( ].
I'm so going to miss your unmistakable and infectious laugh.

Yat's moment of fame with host Jean Danker, during the Q&A session in the Best Dressed Competition.
Jean: Who is Michael Jackson's first wife?
Yat: *with full confidence* Stanley (something) Presley ar...
Rain's moment of fame with host Jean Danker, during the Q&A session in the Best Dressed Competition.
Jean: Who you gonna call...
Rain: GHOSTBUSTERS!

Watch 'em dance!
Yat's and Rain's best "Fever!" pose, while an amused Han laughs.
The ladies with their balloon flower corsages on top of the mini
podium in the room.

And near closing time:
"I wanna take you away... Let's escape into the music, DJ let it play..."

"PLEASE DON'T STOP THE MUSIC!"
And I shall end this entry with Rain doing the Robo-Electro (I think).

Don't Stop The Music x Rihanna

3 years came and zoom by... just like that.
I can't believe I'm a diploma holder.
Graduates in the dance studio.

The fantastic friends I've met along the way.
To those I've lost along the way, I'm sorry I wasn't good enough a friend, but I do sincerely hope that all the memories we might have had together has more good ones than the bad.

A couple more of those shots.
Final Year Project I and II mates - photo courtesy of Zann's brother.

My parents - without them, I don't think I'll know where to head for in life.
I'm glad you're proud of me =)

How do we feel about FINALLY graduating?

Just look at them =)

San Dimas High School Football Rules x The Ataris

Because I'm an obsessed aunt, like that.

And San Dimas is on repeat.
Can anyone spell c-l-a-s-s-i-c?
It's like reliving the old times - when what it really was, was just my best kept secret.. and till today, it still somewhat is.

And sad as I was back then, I laugh now when I think about it.
That's good, right?
Oh well.

p.s Anyone's got Love Song by The Cure? I've lost that file. Shite.

Walk It Out x Unk

This excessive sit-at-home syndrome has got to cease, with immediate effect.
Despite a downright foul mood swing and despite advices from the parents against going out, I still went ahead.

It proved to be beneficial, really.
I taught Rifqy how to say "Car"... which he picked up really fast.
And now he can't stop screaming "CAR!!" everytime we make our way to the carpark to get to the car or when he sees something on wheels pass by us.

Case 1: Rifqy screaming "CAR!" in the middle of Banquet.

He goes to Kiddy Palace and holds out his tiny hand to any passing stranger so that he can "salam" them (regardless of race), he enjoys making us run along with him in shopping malls and he likes to give anyone who cares to smile at him a "flying kiss".

Everytime I see him I just wanna bite his little head off and take it with me to sleep.

Okay, on a totally random note... I've got to stop myself from saying "I wud lykkke to(ah) buuy a damn- burger" everytime I head to a fast food joint.

Just another one of those days.

Beautiful Love x The Afters

Life's been really, reallllly routine...in other words, dull.

I'm finding myself taking keen interest in listening to Muse's 'Time is Running Out' on repeat, just so that I can hear the sharp inhale that Matthew Bellamy does in between belting out "And time is ruuunnnnnnnning ouuuuuuuuuutttttttttt *insert sharp inhale here*" and if you listen reaaaalllly well, you can hear those sharp inhales throughout the whole song.

I should really stop doing that, its getting kind of unhealthy.

Anyways, I've been up to impromptu things... baking heart and star shaped sugar cinnamon cookies for Han (it's cookie season), buying little baby rompers for Trisha (who's barely 4 weeks old) and sewing people's initials into handkerchiefs I find lying around the house.

Oh, and the Chinese lady whom I brought Trisha's purple butterfly romper from, thought I was buying it for MY baby and that Han and I are MARRIED.
She also said, "Wahhh... your baby only 3 weeks old and you're already fit enough to go out shopping? Chinese people, 1 month after giving birth then can go out one!"
It didn't help that I was wearing a babydoll top -_-

Needless to say, Han and I were taken aback and started spurting out explanations that it was for my niece and not for OUR kid.
Maybe, in 10 years time.

Graduation Ceremony this 26th... and Graduation Night this 29th.
Still so many days to go before I get news if I'm accepted into university.
Sigh.

I'm bored beyond words.

Teeth the Size of Piano Keys x Chiodos
Number 2 was spent together basking in each others' presence and knowing well enough that we'll make it through the many years to come.

Smile in Your Sleep x Silverstein

Dear Han,

010308 - Our 2nd anniversary.

Remember when our friends first got to know that we were together...
It felt like there were almost "betting" that we won't last a year, what with our obvious differences in beliefs, religion and so forth... well, we sure proved them wrong, didn't we *winks*

These 2 years together, proved that our relationship took more than just honesty, trust, respect and all that good stuff.
It needed a whole lot of guts, tears, blood (like those through your nose that day I was "plucking" it), sweat, tugging, screaming, pulling, shouting, hanging up on each other and all that little nitty gritty shit.
But, we know that we really, REALLY tried.
And we're going to have to keep trying if because we want this to last.

And, we both know we perfectly represent the saying:
"There's nothing better than a great romance, to ruin a perfectly good friendship."

It's was nice that I got the chance to know you as my BengBeng Buddy for a year odd before you turn into who you are to me now, my whole world.
I got to learn about you during that one year odd... and it helped me reassure myself that my choice has been and will always be right, to me.

Here's to looking forward to the coming years together, love.
I know you know how badly I love you

Lots & lots & lots of xoxoxoxo,
Shikin
