Landing in London x 3 Doors Down

I'm gonna be like any other random blogger in this universe and randomly blog about what happened or is going to happen in this eventful month we all know as July =)

Firstly...
After many, many, many weeks of programming and hard coding, the FYP team decided that we all needed a major break, in conjunction of completing the programming and starting on the Project Report.

Treated ourselves to a hearty lunch at Swensens and the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's sneak preview (a day before it opened island wide) on the 11th of July.

It felt soooo, soooo good to go down to campus on a Wednesday WITHOUT a laptop =)
How was the movie?
It was... okay... ho-hum.
The effects were spectacular... BUT, it doesn't even come close to the awesomeness of Transformers.

Duh.

I rushed back to campus for Gamelan rehearsal, Lala met her boy and Zann and Linda spent some quality naggy-mamas time together, shopping =)

Secondly, there was the Gamelan performance for the Racial Harmony Day celebrations at the Ulu Pandan Community Centre.

RP really represented this time, sending an entire line-up of Malay dancers, Indian dancers and the Indian Cultural Group, the entire Lion/Dragon dance troupe and of course, the Gamelan IG.

Considering that the organisers from the CC were bloody disorganised, we still had a great time playing and hanging out as an IG.

Han came down and watched us perform a couple of songs and off we went to town.
Impromptu neoprints, claypot rice and lotsa quality time together.
Thank you, baby.
You made me a very happy girl today *pokes*

And lastly, the upcoming PM Visit at the end of this month.
Buildings are repainted, screw ups are covered up and every IG is just bloody busy preparing for that day...
We've got rehearsals every other day... Not including the previews that suddenly pop up out of nowhere because "OSG wants it" *rolls eyes*
Urgh.

Aaah...
I need sleep.
The eye bags are horrendous.

Good night, beautiful babies.

Transformers Theme x Mutemath

Irsyad with me... during Hari Raya last year.
He's nephew number... 5?
Heh.

**Digresses...

It's weird when you listen to songs on your player and suddenly the lyrics start to strike you really hard...and the song that you thought reminded you of someone else, suddenly reminds you of another being... and you feel this familiar ache that you're so uncomfortable with and you long for it to go away... but it just won't...

And then... there's this unexplainable feeling when your design facilitator decides that he wants to call you..
Ash.
Short for Ash-kin.
When my real name is Ashikin/Shikin...
Or rather Wan Nurulashikin Binte Syed Hussein.
He can't pronounce it well... so he just... slurs it?
Haha.

Right then...
I'm off... it's been a long day, I'm bloody tired and irritable and I need to do my FYP.

Transformers x Mutemath

I swear it was a sign when I heard the Transformers' theme song play on the radio at 6.15 a.m this morning.

I knew I had to go catch it... it was today, or never...
Sooooo, Han and I made our way to The Grand Cathay at freaking 9 a.m. =)

We purchased our tickets and made our way to Ya Kun Kaya Toast for... well, toast.
We got a table next to a Chinese family of four; Mummy, Daddy, Elder Brother, Younger Brother.

While I was happily enjoying my toast, I can't help but overhear the conversation that went on between them...

Daddy: Samuel, what do you want to be when you grow up? A Transformer?
Samuel (Younger Brother): YES! I WANT TO BE A TRANSFORMER!!! *puts on his Optimus Prime paper mask*
Elder Brother: You cannot be a Transformer! They're robots... you boyyyyy.
Samuel: BUT I WANT TO BE A TRANSFORMER!

I can't help but smile at his silliness... a kid who wants to be a Transformer... Haha.

A few minutes later, Mummy decided to ask Samuel the same question, perhaps she thought that he finally understood that he can't possibly grow up and become a Transformer...

Mummy: Samuel, what do you REALLY want to be when you grow up?
Samuel: *stops munching halfway and thinks* I WANT TO BE AN AEROPLANE!!
Mummy: Aiyooo!! You mean pilot! You cannot be an aeroplane!
Samuel: NO! NOT PILOT! AEROPLANEEEEEE!!!

I looked at the kid and grinned at him... and he showed me his Optimus Prime mask.
Pretty cool, actually.

So, the time slot for our show finally arrived and we went up to the theater.
I've never been a very big fan of all things robotics... Gundam... Transformers... well, except for those Bomberman thingies of course, but they're cute... but they're not exactly robots either...

The show was awesome!
Like Samuel, I'm now convinced I want to be a Transformer when I'm older.
I'm dead serious.
Maybe a Scrambler bike, perhaps... with sleek exhaust pipes that can turn into missile launching pipes with a tracker that could detect the enemy so its bulls-eye all the time and green headlights for eyes, a soft butt that is my bike's seat... and the list goes on.

I like the Autobots and all... but maybe, I'll be one of the Decepticons instead and destroy mankind... and maybe Megatron will decide he needs a lady-bot
and we can head back to Cybertron for more Decepticons and return back to Earth and rule the world to-ge-daaaaaa!!!

*sigh*
I've got to go get my FYP programming done now.
Back to reality...

I still want to be a Transformer *pouts*
