She'll Never Understand x Matchbook Romance

Been away to Malacca since Saturday morning and I've reached home to the comfort of Sengkang around 9.30 p.m., Monday night.
You don't know how relieved I felt seeing familiar roads and buildings.
Being in Malacca felt like I've stepped back a few eras...

AND IT WAS SCORCHING HOT.
The weather didn't really agree with me, so a nose bleed was never too far away.

There was more than 3 generations from my dad's side who went on the trip.
So, you can imagine the mess and the disastrous noises.
What from the bawling babies, to the cousins who sang off-key, to the grandpa who's forever speaking in a booming voice.

Enough text, more photos

And we're off, from Compasspoint's drop-off point, and it was too early to look happy

High-tea at Century Mahkota Hotel, Melaka. Great ambience, good service, and SUSHI

Sights and sounds at Century Mahkota Hotel

Snaps of the lovely people that makes up the term "Family"

Booked into INB resort...and the great thing was, we had all 23 bungalows, the entire resort booked for ourselves

Having the entire resort to ourselves means that the pool is ours.We swam.. day in and day out, since the sun rose till the the moon's in. Everyone's wrinkled and the pool's taken a totally different shade of blue...errr...its no longer blue either

The hubbub of activities and games planned...it was crazy-mad-noisy. We had everything from Bingo to balloons to water polo...and man, I rule at Bingo, can =D

We karaoke-ed all day too..and as seen above, Afiq was already in his PJs, so it was wayyyy past his bedtime...say...past midnight..and also... also...adults should be banned from dancing. You don't know how embarrassed I was when dad was tryina get his "jiggy down"...

THE HORROR

The final day soon came...and we left Malacca. We drove up to Senibung for dinner by the sea, where the seafood was as fresh as it gets.

The menu ranged from (according to the order they arrived at the table) -

Otah as starters,A huge heaping of rice, Hotplate Beancurd, Black Pepper Crabs, Deep Fried Black Pepper Grouper, Butter Prawns, Butter Calamari, Tom Yam soup, Sambal Kangkong, Chilli Mussels and we washed it all down with a huge jug of Watermelon juice. Finished it all off with a choice between chocolate swirl or strawberry swirl ice-cream. WHOLESOME.

We dined on the beach, watched the sunset and watched the stars dot the night sky. It was BEAUTIFULLLLL....But really, I can't wait to get back to Singapore.

I didn't even chew a single piece of gum while I was there. There wasn't much time to shop around, didn't buy much stuff either. Pathetic. All I got was several tops and some other stuff... which is only so little, cos one really REALLY shops when they're overseas, I think.

Nonetheless, the mother and the father bought almost RM 80 worth of tidbits and crackers. Dad bought this DISGUSTING bottle of smashed shrimp and you can see their beady black eyes, pressed against the wall of the glass bottle and its REALLY GROSS.

How can any sane human being eat that??!!

Well, bottomline is...I'm back home now...sick...and bus lagged...and even though my nose doesn't bleed anymore, there's a never-ending flow of mucus.

I finished up 2 boxes of 200 pieces of tissues this afternoon.

Nonetheless, it was worth it, I guess. A 3-generation get together
