Black & Gold x Sam Sparro

Us at Graduation Ceremony 2008.

Got it from Rain who I believe got it from one of his teachers from an MOE magazine (I think).
We're famous!! (well, kinda).

Stole this months ago from Zann's blog... but never got around to publishing it.
I can see me, Asri and many other familiar faces, in our graduation robes.
*Photo credited to Zann's brother =)

Never thought I'd miss RP this much.
Weird.

Today, at school, I saw some of the SIM-RMIT graduating students.
Watching them, made me reaaaaaaaallllly wanna go strive for that degree, just so that my parents can see me put on a graduation robe WITH a mortarboard come 30 December 2010.

I really want this.

Cookie Jar x Gym Class Heroes Stress:
- difficulty or hardship that induces extreme emotional tension.

School's slowly starting to take a toll on my stress endurance level.
Projects and upcoming exams are just around the bend and I know I've got to: step it up a notch, pull up my socks and *insert here whatever other phrases that has the "you need to buck up" connotation*.

I wouldn't even wish for a re-module because they're a bloody waste of time and money.

That aside, the past 2 days with Mr. Han were particularly lovely=)
Late night 20-minute-walk-me-home moments when there's no one else out in the streets is THE antidote to the stressful soul.

Now, back to reading those bloody tutorial solutions.
None of the words are making sense at this hour, but hey, at least I'm TRYING.

In the meantime... CLICK!

Whatever It Takes x Lifehouse

Our first ever trip to the not so famous(yet) Ann Siang Hill caused the both of us to be drenched in our own sweat after the first 5 minutes.

Not being able to locate where it was initially meant that; we passed by the red dot museum more than once, walked pass the entire span of the URA building and stroll by all the pretty shop houses that lined the road.

With Han's new Vivitar in hand, we attempted to shoot photos we thought would look good when printed, but that remains to be confirmed as we haven't even gotten through the first roll of film yet.
So NOT used to not being able to view the shots after snapping it.

I just hope Ann Siang Hill won't turn into a hot spot such as Arab Street.
Part of the beauty of that place was how secluded and matrep-free it was.

On a final note, skipped my first lecture yesterday (couldn't face the sun, sky and notes) and school starts at 2 pm tomorrow (read: I get to sleep in!).

And and and BPL's kicking off again =)
Go Spurs!

My Heroine x Silverstein

"There is no law, cultural/religious reasons as to why a man has to spend a few months worth of salary to get a rock, to put on a woman's finger when he asks her to marry him. This gentlemen, we can blame on the effects of marketing."

"A marketer doesn't sell a bed, he/she sells a good night's sleep. A marketer doesn't sell insurance policies, he/she sells security and a peace of mind...."

I swear I can go on and on and even though it seems like I've been brainwashed beyond repair, I'm thoroughly enjoying my lectures.

Buuuuuuutttt... on the NOT so bright side, there's 2 lecture sessions tomorrow.

Can anyone spell "Information Overload"?

When I Grow Up x The Pussycat Dolls

School starts tomorrow.

Take A Bow x Rihanna

Last week was pretty power packed.. a
nd even though most of it was due to work, it was so totally worth it, because pay comes in any day now =)

On one of two from the now seemingly few off days I managed to secure, I woke up as early as 5.30 a.m. to get ready for my island getaway with my two ladies, Ms. Lala & Ms. Linda.

Linda said and I quote, "Ohmygawd... I bought all this with only 150 Sing dollars!? I could only get maybe 2 Dorothy Perkins tops back home!" *big grin breaks out on face*

We shopped blazed through 4 big malls in 12 hours, got everything we needed wanted and hopped back on the ferry back home.
We bought so much stuff it's a surprise we managed to keep ourselves within budget.

The
pièce de résistance of the day?

A hearty meal at A&W, complete with strawberry and ice cream waffles, 3 huge jugs of Root Beer Floats and the works.

We got back to Singapore about 5 minutes shy from 11pm

On the off day I got before the island getaway, Mr. Rain and I went on out to do what broke people will do : window shop, hop on the free Funvee open top bus to Singapore Flyer and indulge on a fanfreakingtastic meal at Popeye's.

On Funvee... forget about splurging money on Hippo tours, this, my friend, is FREE.

At flyer... which I'm half hearted to take, because it takes so damn bloody long to get off ride and everyone I know said it's pretty "mendak" (read: humdrum).

After Popeye's, taking a look at the Build A Bear Workshop there and generally planning what we would buy with our next pay, we hopped on home, more broke than ever, but happy.

This week, come Friday, Han and I will be spending our last monthsary before Ramadhan comes around and before he spends 1 year 11 months of his life serving the Nation.
This Friday, it's gotta be special.
This Friday, marks the end of the 7 month vacation period I got, because come Monday, I'm a full time student again.

I'm ready.

Party People x Nelly Feat. Fergie

School orientation was interesting, to say the least.
Being totally hopeless in heels, I was one of the few who didn't teeter about in 3 inch spike heels accompanied with a full face of one inch thick make-up.

I wonder how my classmates are gonna be like when semester finally starts on the 4th of August.
I'm gonna have 3 hour lectures/tutorials almost everyday with Caucasian lecturers for a month before we switch to local lecturers.

And I got myself a pencil case.
You know, to put pens and pencils in... which is extremely awkward, considering I've been studying in a "paperless campus" environment for the past 3 years.

My class schedule and booklist will be released tomorrow, which gives me extreme stress, but everyone who knows me knows I'm a "kanchiong spider" (whatever that means) so I believe its all good =)

Yes, I know it's all good and I think I'm finally ready to settle down and be a full time student, for the last time.

All You Need Is Love x The Beatles

To know that with you, I don't have to be no one else but myself, to realise that you'll play along with whatever impromptu (albeit: silly & nonsensical) plans that I make and to be assured that you'll always make up for the things I lack, makes me realise that, yes, I want to spend my remaining, breathing moments with you.

Alrighty then, time to get ready for work =)

Kisses Don't Lie x Rihanna

The month of July had a very, very, VERY good start and is still smooth sailing up till now.

  1. Working with Rain, Vinnie, Nat and the rest of the Bear Builders had been and will continue being a total joy and for the first time in my rather many part-time ventures, I look forward to going to work.
  2. The shopping spree which we officially now name a monthly ritual was a satisfying affair.
  3. The Girls Night Out with my beloved ladies was cosy and private, what with the "Where's all the fish?" and "Eh! Ada brownie!?" going around half the time.
  4. Daniel Jude Sim and Rian Ariel was born on the 30th of June 2008, and I felt so happy and fulfilled as we sat down, filling in the birth certificates for our beloved boys.
  5. And how could I forget how happy the man of my life and I are nowadays, spending as much time around each other physically and through other technological means, as if we're still love-drunked teenagers who just got together yesterday.

And my two favourite partners in the ECC venture and yours truly have arranged a short getaway to a nearby island reaaaaaaal soon =)

Even the bad things in life doesn't look so bleak anymore.
Positive aura all around.

Now, I'm gonna go ahead and watch Rihanna in concert, all over again... and put "Good Girl Gone Bad", "Questions Existing" and "Don't Stop the Music" scenes on repeat again and again and again about oh, say, 8 times per song...

Sounds good, yes?

Stay Close, Don't Go x Secondhand Serenade

Any idea who's in the Bearemy get up?

No?
So... I'll just drop a hint, yes?

Now, any answers? =)

Your Call x Secondhand Serenade

Back from Batam, Germs, not BINTAN!

Batam was fantastic!!
Full body traditional massages for SGD11.00.
The shopping was incredible.
Freshly barbecued seafood for 7 pax for SGD17.00.
And the shopping was cheap!
4.5 star hotel stays at SGD43.00.
And the shopping...ARGH!

*blissful sigh*
Did I mention that the shopping was great?

Bugger off to whoever that said that the stuff there were expensive/priced just like those in Singapore, because I'm sure as hell I only paid 1/10 of the retail price in Singapore for that Escada perfume I bought there.
And the 19 pieces of clothings I bought for **** **** ****** only amounted to a smidgen amount.

Here's to looking forward to glue guns and flashing and popping bulbs come next Saturday, girls =)

I've Just Seen A Face x The Beatles

Best thing I bought for myself in 19 years plus.
I've always kinda loved the Beatles' sound... but right now, I'm declaring myself a huge fan.

And that guy who plays Jude, with that thick Brit accent, that rich velvety voice of his and those dark, sleepy eyes is the utmost absolute drool-worthy specimen brought to screen by man.

"Falling, yes, I am falling and she is calling me back again..."

The Way That I Love You x Ashanti

May Batam have lots of purple stuff for ECC.

May the photo shoot which will commence after I come back be BRILLIANT.
May pom pom earrings be all the rage.
May working with Rain & Vinnie today usher in lots of good hoopla.
May I be prepared to face school again (read: in less than 2 months!).
May Han & Rain have a good time in camp come 15th September 2008.
May their bald heads not dampen the spirit of Hari Raya-ing.

And may Rifqy & Trisha remain devastatingly adorable for the rest of their lives.

Amin.

Whatever It Takes x Lifehouse

Han turned 20.

A quiet affair for 2, well, till late night that is =)

I managed to pull off my the surprise morning picnic at the Botanical Gardens.
All I told him that morning, was to be at the Botanical Gardens by 11 am and that when he came, I'll be waiting by the Swan Lake.

Seeing him pull a parcel out from his birthday chest one by one, with that smile on his face, made me elated.
And seeing that look of childish glee when he unwrapped the "Jedi Vs Sith : The Essential Guide to the Force" book, made me realise that my 3 week long hunt for it was way, way, way worth it.

Everything I planned went smoothly; picnic went well, could see how genuinely surprised he was, Carousel was crazy good (we're craving for more!) and thanks to the unexpected Mastercard's discount, it was way cheaper than we thought, went to collect our titanium rings and the rest of the night was just...let's just say, it reaffirmed the fact that we are still crazy about each other.

He got me a surprise gift, for our 27th month, which falls on the 1st of June.
A Tottenham Hotspur official merchandise bear who I aptly named, Ramos =D
I won't be caught watching a Spurs game without Ramos come next season =)

I can now sit back, take a breather and smile fondly as I looked back on the day that you turned 20.

A great big thanks to:
- Our friends/my relatives for the well wishes for Han.
- To my greatest cousin, Eha, for the late night giggles/discussion/ideas over text messages/MSN.
- And finally, to the dope Mr. Rain, for being there whenever I started panicking, for accompanying me to scour the streets for the gifts, for the countless trips to Kinokuniya/Borders/Times, for the shopping trip where you spent $300++ and for just being there when I needed to punch/smack someone. I heart you so.
.

"I hope that I'll one day deserve what you've given me, but all I can do is try.
Everyday of my life."

See you in awhile =)

You Belong to Me x Jason Wade

I spent a few minutes reading back my old diary entries, just mere minutes ago.
And, I stumbled across one particular entry that made me grin like a fool and started a blaze of warm fuzziness all over me.

---*draws a divider*---

23rd January 2006, 2327 hours

Everytime she meets his eyes...
... she gets the flutters.

And everytime he looks her way...
... she envelopes herself in the warmth of that familiar gaze.

And everytime he touches her...
... she would close her eyes. as if capturing that moment in her thoughts.

And everytime they were alone...
... she'll drag time a lil' bit more.

She rather spends a minute with him,
than a day with anyone else.

And when he turns to give her one last glance,
as they headed for their own separate journeys home,
the unbelievable happens.

She starts missing him.

---*draws a divider*---

GOODNESS.
I was a lost, lovesick 17 year old then.

Not really sure if it was pure old puppy love, a silly crush or an infatuation.
And this, was after Han and I knew we had a thing for each other, after he dropped me that message on the 18th of January '06, exactly at midnight, that gave me the mother of all "racing hearts" attacks =)

However, 7 days later, after a rowdy session of soccer, after changing together with the boys in the Gents at the old Tanglin campus, after missing 9 trains, he "asked me out".

And today, after approximately 746 days together, I can't believe he still has that effect on me, only about 2310948734 times stronger than before.

Walking in the rain.

When I Look to the Sky x Train

Today, as I walked home after work, the rain unexpectedly poured, after 4 scorching, looonngg days.

And instead of seeking for shelter under bus stops, blocks and multi purpose halls like everyone else around me, I stopped walking, tilted my head up and let the rain run through my hair, onto my cheeks and soak into my clothes.

I forgot how good rain feels on skin and I recalled how I used to like walking in it.

As I continued my journey back home, Train's "When I Look to the Sky" kept playing in my head, subconsciously.

Hence, the change in the blog's song =)

"Cause when I look to the sky
Something tells me you're here with me

And you make everything alright
And when I feel like I'm lost
Something tells me you're here with me
And I can always find my way when you are here

And every word I didn't say
Caught up in some busy day
And every dance on the kitchen floor, we didn't have before

And every sunset that we'll miss
I'll wrap them all up in a kiss
And pick you up in all of this when I sail away"

- When I Look to the Sky, Train.

I Want You to Want Me x Letters to Cleo

Just a couple of my favourite-est people in the world...and a leg or two.

9 more days.
